At CITY 352 lecture, it was aimed to create a portfolio in accordance with the Latin American cities given to us by studying The Law of Indies this semester.
The following are valid for city planning rules: it first emphasizes that it depends on the population. It mentions that a staging will be created depending on the population. It proposes that the topography of the campus to be established should be a harmonious place. The reason for this is to be able to set up a system with a gridal order. Places where there is no slope are preferred. and there is an additional classification. It explains the importance of establishing the city with certain age groups and people of certain qualities. Asuncion is a good example. It is a city formed by the working human population between the ages of 30-35.
Asuncion has an important place in the history of the city. It passes between the first cities. I determined the events of Paraguay as I dealt with them completely. 7 main events took place in the process. The first and most important, I think, is the discovery of Paraguay in 1525 and the other is Paraguay’s independence in 1811.
Its geomorphology is based on the plain. As you can see on the adjacent map, there is no topographic threshold. This gave the asuncion an opportunity to settle in a gridal order. It is suitable for settlement. It has warm temperate and climate. It is suitable for agriculture. The Paraguay river passes through the middle of the city. It industrializes the city to a large extent.
City development has been completed in 5 stages as a result of my analysis. The first stage is the settlement that takes place by the river. As a result of these, 5 different urban patterns have emerged. Lack of infrastructure in the current time period has been defined as a new development in the city. The prominent men of the city associated the development with transport. Projects have been prepared in accordance with this. Asuncion is mentioned as the mother of cities in the World
It completed the urban planning process with 3 plans. The order was not disrupted and continued in a gridal order and with certain axes. And with the resource I found on the left, district & administrative bouandaries and department are defined.
When you look at the country in general, you can see that the city with the highest population is Asuncion. There are more women than men. The working population between the ages of 30-35 constitutes the general population of the country.
Considering the morphology of the city, there is no different variety. A figure ground organization was established when the city was established in a gridal order with a fill operation. As you can see from the sections, there are no topographic thresholds. This is the area I told you about where the city’s first settlement was established. It is designed with 4 parcels. It constitutes the inner fringe of the city. It is an industrial zone.
In the other, I am talking about the colon street, which is from the cbd area. A certain axis has been created with a strong commerce. and continues in a gridal pattern with an inner courtyard in this area.
The city is a port city. We can say that it is an industrial city. There is an old urban fabric and it has been tried to be kept constant throughout this process. The population is young and generally studied. This city, which has certain geometric axes, does not contain many topographic thresholds. The Law of Indies also abides by the rules mentioned for the settlement. The land is generally flat and in some places there are soft hills. From there, the vistas of the city are formed. Since the topography and climate of the city are suitable, agriculture is carried out. We can say that a certain income of the country is obtained from agriculture.
In summary, the city was established with The Law of Indies gridal arrangement and open space & space setup was established with fill operations.
